Rules of the Game

Bid Numbers

A bid number is necessary to bid in either the Silent or Live Auction. Each couple or individual may pick up a bid number at the check-in counter. If a couple would like two separate bid numbers, they may request them.

Bidding

Bids in the Silent Auction must be made in at least $5 increments - anything less will not be honored.

During the Live Auction, holding up the bidding paddle and being acknowledged by the auctioneer constitutes a bid. The highest bid accepted by the auctioneer will take the item. In the event of a dispute between bidders, the decision will rest with the auctioneer who may either determine the successful bidder or re-open the item to further bidding

Payment and item claim/use: Successful bidders for the Silent and/or Live Auction may pay by credit card (VISA, Master Card, American Express), cash, or personal check and should claim their purchases by the end of the evening.

Goods and services purchased must be used within one year of the auction, unless otherwise specified. It is the buyer's responsibility to contact the donor to arrange for services.

Bidding by Proxy

If you are unable to attend the Auction and wish to bid on an item, please submit your bids on the form provided or on a separate sheet specifying the item, your bid amount, your name, phone number and address to Pat Nelson, CCC Executive Director, at 1300 Main Street by Friday, March 28th at 5:00 p.m. Please write a separate check for each bid item. Additionally there is a $10 bid registration fee (the equivalent of the $10 entrance fee for people attending the auction). Please write a separate check for this fee. The auctioneer will use proxy bids as opening bids. Non-winning proxy bids will be returned. No proxy bids will be accepted without a check for each item and the $10 bid registration fee.

Heads or Tails Game

When you check in, pick up a Heads or Tails Flashing Pin for $25. During a break in the live auction, the game will be played. The auctioneer will ask those who are participating to stand up. When the coin is tossed, you determine if you think it will land on "heads" or "tails" by turning on your pin or keeping it off. The auctioneer will make it clear if the pin needs to flash for heads or tails. You remain in the game if you guessed correctly. The game continues until we have a winner.

The prize will be "The Admiral's Inn", L7 in the Program.

Mystery! Grab Bags

Purchase a mystery bag for $25! The minimum value of a bag will be $25, with some bags being worth quite a bit more. You might be the lucky winner of an iPod Shuffle! It's a mystery. Bags available at both check-in and throughout the evening until they are gone. Don't wait, they go quickly.

Children's Photographs

When you arrive, be sure to look around to find your own "little Petunia" in the live auction space. Please feel free to take the photo home with you at the end of the Auction.

Raffle

Raffle Tickets will be available for purchase at your program site and on the night of the Auction for $10 each. The winning number will be pulled by our auctioneer during the live Auction. This years raffle item is: A Night of Indulgence in Harvard Square, Cambridge. Accommodations for two at the Sheraton Commander Hotel with breakfast, a $100 American Express gift card for an elegant dining experience in "the Square" and most importantly overnight childcare provided by the amazing Anne Doherty, West Concord Program Director.
Value: Priceless!

Thank you for your contribution!

To ensure the high quality of the programs at CCC, the Board of Directors has set the compensation of teachers as the top budget priority, and most of the annual budget funds that. The Auction proceeds support the center by enhancing educational programs, new equipment, field trips, and curriculum development. Your Auction purchases help make the CCC experience work for you and your family.

Thank you for your attendance at the auction and for bidding generously.
