Teaching Staff

Our commitment to hiring, training and retaining the very best teachers has resulted in average center-wide teacher tenure of 9 years. Our teachers are enthusiastic early childhood educators with a thorough knowledge of child development. 90% of Concord Children’s Center teachers have undergraduate or advanced degrees in Early Childhood Education and related fields.

With favorable student-teacher ratios, there are continuous opportunities for interaction between the children and teachers, and for the children to learn by positive personal example. By hiring excellent people, providing competitive compensation, and superior professional development opportunities, Concord Children’s Center avoids rapid staff turnover, and maintains a stable, nurturing, and inspiring environment for children.

Student Teachers

Sometimes the Center staff is joined by Student Teachers from one of the area's colleges or universities. These students are supervised by Lead Teachers and Program Directors as well as the sponsoring college.

Teacher Preparation Days

In addition to our weekly staff meetings, the teachers meet several times during the year for long range planning and curriculum development. Teacher Preparation days are a time for staff members to visit other programs, attend professional conferences, etc. We are aware of the hardship that these days can cause parents; however, we feel that this time is important for professional development of the program.
